Even with the Kenobi series it’s still iffy having Leia name him Ben. Bail Solo was right there. How heartbreaking would it be to have Leia’s son, the namesake of one of the most influential founders of The Rebellion, now leading the remnants of the Empire? The tragedy practically writes itself.

I personally think Ben Solo (not Kylo Ren) could’ve been a great character (if they had bothered to try). But yea it would’ve been better if the sequels were based on the legends kids.

Well in terms of naming, Obi Wan is the whole reason Han and Leia met and the reason they were able to escape. He started Luke on his journey to being a Jedi and a rebel. Obi Wan’s actions led to the destruction of the Death Star. So they do have a lot to be thankful to him for so naming their son after him is plausible. And that’s before the Kenobi series
