@Nico MacMillan:@Nico MacMillan:@Nico MacMillan:Let’s break down some uncomfortable but important facts:
In 2006, Hamas won the Palestinian legislative elections and took control of Gaza. This wasn’t a military takeover — it was a vote. Hamas is designated as a terrorist organization by the U.S., EU, UK, Canada, and others. They’re heavily funded and armed by Iran — a regime openly hostile to Israel and the West.
There have been widely documented celebrations in parts of Gaza and the West Bank after terror attacks — including 9/11 and the October 7th massacre in Israel. People were seen dancing in the streets, handing out sweets, and cheering. These aren’t rumors — they’ve been captured on video by international media and confirmed by eyewitness reports.
Hamas also has a long history of stealing humanitarian aid meant for civilians. Instead of distributing it to families in need, much of it is redirected to fund terror infrastructure. They’ve stored weapons in schools, mosques, and hospitals — using civilians as human shields. Aid trucks have been looted. Meanwhile, Hamas leaders live in luxury abroad while the people of Gaza suffer.
This doesn’t mean all Palestinians support Hamas — many are victims of its rule. But we must stop pretending there’s no connection between leadership and consequences.
You can care about innocent people and still condemn the terror, the corruption, and the hatred.
Compassion doesn’t mean ignoring facts.
Truth matters.
