Boomers don't get this, they thought they were entitled to everything, took it all and left nothing for anyone else then claimed everyone else is too entitled.

I remember my late father telling me about one of his superior officers in WW2. He said "I saluted the uniform, not the damn fool wearing it".

With every new, higher position I’ve been given, I think, “This isn’t mine.” The office, the desk, the perks, none of it is mine. It goes to the next person after me, so I’m a caretaker, not an owner.

I'm a retired senior non-commissioned officer and I can tell you that this message certainly applies to a lot of people that are transitioning out of the military and into the civilian world as well but thank you for sharing a story

Yes and no guys...38 years in management earned me...me...alot of respect. Since retired, there are still alot of people that recognize me in much the same way and in some aspects even better. Respect is earned by the individual not the title.

It's why Trump likes being the president, he doesn't want to do the presidency. There is a difference.

Nice one and a bit of a shame too... "I deserve a styrofoam cup". Don't we all deserve a little more than that 😊

The biggest piece to me is that that title/position doesn’t get used to treat those *below* that position rudely.

A wise man once said be careful accepting a position that comes with a car & driver. Because when you lose that position, that is what you will miss the most.

I know! Though I am holding the highest position at my job, I know it is not me and I behave as I used to behave when I was office clerk before promoted.
