Having lived in WA, OR, ID, FL, and IL I roll my eyes so hard when I start hearing purity talking points against national level actors. Especially with Newsom right now. Yes ideals are ideal, but sabotaging a lefter effort / victory due to ego is a wild 😫

I hate the condescension from people in blue states without recognizing their absolute privilege. It also makes them believe that the problems in red states don’t also happen in blue states, and that we are somehow more uneducated and racist than they are (not true). And then are somehow shocked when he wins the ENTIRE nation in the presidential election

As someone in a red state when I hear them say things like they got what they voted for as if we haven't been gerrymander to death and minorities are more likely to have a criminal record excluding them from voting.

As a leftist in a blue state, you're absolutely right. Though the declining despot has found ways to hurt us, it's nothing compared to the damage done in red states. My purity politics counterparts don't seem to get this - winning and saving everyone we can is more important than remaining ideologically constant. Maddening.
