@lakeviewliving: Boys NEED avenues to get that energy out and we can’t leave them to their own devices. Digging holes changed our perspective #MomsofTikTok #momtok #raisingboys #boymom #boy
That's why farm kids are such good kids. typically.

As a middle school teacher, they need recess… I have no clue why they don’t get it. It would solve EVERYTHING

Exercise gives you endorphins, which make you feel good. But also, you may want to have him evaluated for ADHD.

It’s also middle school and as a middle school teacher, these kids tell me “I dont care. It doesn’t count until high school anyways.”

“Either regulate yourself or I will regulate you” is one of the best statements I’ve ever heard as a parent. I’m saving this one! ❤️

my oldest son(14) and daughter(16) fought 24/7, my husband took them 5 miles down a back road, dropped them off and said see you at home. They haven't fought since.

I saw a behavioral therapist talking about this! He said men/boys process stuff better when they are physical so get them into exercising or sports!

Great story. Great lesson learned. I knew a family that had a pile of rocks put in a corner of their yard. Rock big enough that it took 2 hands to move them. If you got in trouble you had to move the rocks one side of the yard to the other.

Yes!!!! my son just lost his mind in sixth grade and was in trouble all the time so I started making him get up at 5 AM with me to run. He hated it at first but then he started to love it and looked forward to our runs and eventually he stopped getting in so much trouble. He actually started making better grades too and the best part is he’s asleep by 8- 830 every night

Dr. Montessori said that middle school aged kids (7th-9th) need to get their energy out through working fields, ie something high energy and productive for the community

I love this! Great parenting!! Most parents would take their kids to a doc and put em on meds so they don’t act like kids at all, just little zombies that set around and “out of the parents hair!” This was a great idea momma! Thanks for sharing ❤️

Kids weren't meant to sit in a classroom under florescent lights every day. Boys especially need to do a lot of physical activity multiple times a day. We homeschooled, so it was easier for us, but not everyone can. Schools need to do better.

As an OT, heavy work and sensory input from movement is SO important for kids! All this stationary iPad/tv time is terrible for their regulation system. They need to move and lift!
