@ladybirdanimalsan: Sad news. We had to let our sweet Perlman go. Perlman had been doing well in his foster home over the past month. But last week, he started having trouble keeping food down. A visit to the vet showed that his kidneys were failing. Seeing as how Perlman was doing pretty well otherwise for a senior guy, his medications were adjusted and he went back to his foster home. With this diagnosis, we planned on making Perlman a permanent resident which would allow him to stay in his foster home until he no longer had a good quality of life because of his health. Only two days later, Perlman became wobbly on his feet, and then he couldn’t stand up at all. His foster mom rushed him to the vet, but he went downhill very quickly. We talked with Perlman’s foster mom and the vet, and the conclusion was the best thing for Perlman was to let him go peacefully. Perlman’s foster mom held him in her arms and told him how much he was loved as he passed. We are so sad that Perlman is gone, but we’re grateful he had two months of unconditional love and spoiling with his foster mom. Rest in peace, sweet Perlman. We’ll never forget your sweet face.
