@theroamingcompass: The Eagle's Nest (Kehlsteinhaus) is a historic mountain retreat and tourist destination in the Bavarian Alps of Germany, originally built as a gift for Adolf Hitler's 50th birthday. Visitors can access it via a special shuttle bus from the Obersalzberg Documentation Center, which then con- nects to an elevator that goes through the mountain to the building itself.
