He seems like a fairly new dentist. To be fair, a lot shocks us as new Drs/dentists. but overtime we learn more about all the social determinants of people’s health. Hope this was a learning experience for him

So you had braces? Quick question, after you got them off, did u get a perm retainer at the top and back of your teeth, behind them? I heard that’s what some orthos do after braces are off so that they don’t shift. Can you give us your husbands input on that?

orthodontic treatment is not covered in most states for adults on Medicaid. Children are protected, but adults usually have to pay out of pocket unless they fall into a rare exception.

When I was 20, I worked as a dental assistant. The dentist I worked for once told me that when he first met his wife, her teeth were a mess but he knew he could fix them with Lumineers.
