I know the Mayo Clinic very well. I just turned 50 in July and was diagnosed at age 9. I was very rebellious and didn’t take proper care of myself and ended up having many diabetes related issues. First I lost my eye sight in one eye in 2004. In late 2007 I found out I was in kidney failure and needed a transplant and by luck my half sister was a match so that happened in early 2008. I was also put on a pancreas transplant list in 2007 so finally in 2009 I received a pancreas transplant. I had a heart attack in 2012 and other surgery over the years. I am very thankful for the care over the many years that the Mayo Clinic doctors and staff have given me. Just last week I had my yearly video chat with my doctor from the clinic and was told everything was great with all the test I had to send in. I just told you my story for the most part just because maybe you might get tired of being or dealing with being diabetic but I’m pretty sure you wouldn’t want to go through everything I have and just want to say please take care of yourself and stay strong.
