I live in the houghton county area in the upper peninsula of northern michigan. We get a lot of tourists for copper harbor which is beautiful but very very small.

I’m sure this isn’t the first recommendation for it, I highly recommend a trip to Munising in the upper peninsula to hike or boat around the pictured rocks. Sault Ste Marie is a very cool stop too.

Michigan is called the “Winter Wonderland” because of its historical “Water-Winter Wonderland tourism slogan-which highlighted both the Great Lakes and lots of winter snow & a ton of things to do skiing snowmobiling snowboarding in winter ice climbing.

Grand Haven, Holland State Park, Saugatuck are great places on the West side of Michigan. Some of the best beaches in the world.

Some people think winters in Michigan are even better. Dozens of places to ski, lots of cozy winter getaways, and beautiful landscapes. Some people hate winter cuz the driving is atrocious.
