Nail polish typically has formaldehyde it in so it helps harbor fungus. You shouldn't leave your polish on for more than a couple weeks without a rest. They do sell formaldehyde free polish which is so much better for you. Learned this the hard way :-(

😳 my big toenail, looked very similar to that except I didn’t have a fungus. I had an abscessed that bore itself into my toe. If your toe hurts, it is not a fungus.

I thought I had fungus too once and it ended up not being fungus and it was that my nail kept growing over itself from continuous hitting my nail against my shoes and it looked just like that. all I had to do was grind off all the excess and let it grow back out and its normal now.
