Like I’m not trying to defend her cuz girl has done some very questionable things in my opinion but also she’s human and we all self sabotage at some point in many points in life really. I don’t want 80s Doja. This album isn’t telling a story (to me yet). Early Doja was very camp, edgy, humorous, great mix of pop and rap. Then she had a rap album, which was cool, I liked the story she was going with. And now we have a super pop neo80s album??? Like why???

I REALLY wish she wasn’t so weird. she’s incredibly talented but she refuses to let us just know her for the music. It got to a point where there was so many problematic things w her I just couldn’t stand by it

i don’t care for this new era she is in, she wanted so badly to be a rapper and scarlet was her best body of work. if she knew she wanted to dance back and forth between dramas she shouldn’t have done the overly most to degrade the people were expecting pop from her.

Doja cat is the entire package but she is very arrogant in the way she moves about her career when it comes to her peers. She moves like she’s above collabing or touring with certain people especially black female artists. Nicki was a stepping stone, doesn’t put much effort into her raps unless the person is white or a man, while she ignores the black female artists in the industry who want to collab with her.She’s better at pop-rap but can’t really compete with pop girl in numbers even though her songs have longevity and people don’t really pay attention to her when she raps for her to fully stay on that side.

Same. I loved her music but i cannot listen to her anymore. I don’t want to listen to an artist that insults me because i listen to their works. And she is so controversial. Idk what happened to her , she used to love making music on live but she is so mean and bitter recently and always being mean to her fans.

I think what we love about doja is that she doesn’t take herself seriously. The flip side of that is that she doesn’t see her own greatness. She doesn’t know herself and latches on to people places and things for validation. Her talent transcends her limitations but I hope she finds her core truth and starts creating from there.

I remember listening to Planet Her the day it came out. Pre pandemic and I LOVED IT. It was my top 5 streamed album and everything else Doja has done after that had been disingenuous. I don’t think she ever wanted to be famous and it shows. It’s disappointing and her return to pop is simply another stab at this “cash grab”.
