We don’t need a viable candidate. We need a viable platform. Progressive policies excite the voters. The DNC knows this.

I agree but suppose that someone like Gavin Newsome does end up as Democratic nominee, should us leftist do what Pendleton did and vote 3rd party/don't vote? cause a JD presidency would likely be even worse than Trump

They keep trying to get the center-right votes, but they continue not to get them. Center-right may view more consistently, but they sure as hell aren't voting for the Democrats.

They tried to run Clinton and Harris as candidates and keyboard leftists 💩 on them. They successfully ran Biden against trump ( he appealed more to moderate and conservative voters).
As of right now Newsom is a viable candidate against trump. He appeals to multiple demographics. I think the DNC has finally realized it's pointless to try for the leftist vote. We're to fragmented. He'll, some keyboard leftists have turned on Mamdani.

So many conservative voters actually believe in leftist pro-labor policies, they’ve just been burned so hard by neoliberalism that they think anyone anti-establishment (including Trump) will get them closer to what they want and are misinformed as to what policies would actually benefit them.

The reality is that the majority of the Democratic base has consistently supported progressive initiatives by strong margins for years: Medicare for All (70% support in 2018), BDS, climate, ending the filibuster, etc. across the board. The Democratic party has been about managing and placating the base; they don't represent us and don't intend to change other than to keep dragging us right.

The dems aren't even fighting the fascism. They're just fighting redistricting to keep their own seats. It's the only reason they're fighting.

listen I get it, but honestly is there gonna be some 3rd party that'll suddenly get public approval and a popular enough candidate for there to be a solution??? I agree, but the likelihood of some magic new party sweeping in and fixing everything, having no problems of their own, AND being popular with most Americans? I fear we are hoping too far from reality

why does every body bring up 3 years like they have time, do they think trump and his admin arent already planning for 2028? So many people voicing for THE progressive candidate but want to wait until the last second to promote them?
