My daughter has Ewings sarcoma. I didn’t hesitate to resort to amputation. She had the central part of her hand amputated, finger included. I would have agreed to the whole hand, arm- whatever. Her life is more important than a limb.

my granny proably had sarcoma. I don't really remember, because I was 11 when she died. I realise that medicine was somwhere else almost 10-15 years ago and she just didn't want to amputate her leg. I recently discovered about amputations with sarcoma and I really wish, really believe that if she knew, she would be having great life without her leg... I really miss her.

people who say "I would rather die than..." have never had to make that choice. I get this all the time with my stoma bag. You can adapt to physical changes like this. You can't adapt to being ☠️.

a family friend had to choose between her leg and her life... and in the end, she was so scared of losing her leg that she just let herself die 💔 i understand that it was her choice, and she had the right to her bodily autonomy, but we would rather have her alive with us, even if without a leg 💔

im disabled too, wildly different disability, but people did also tell me they could never/would die if they had to take multiple needle infections per day... always rings as "disabled people life isn't worth living " to my hears 💀🤡

Tbh, losing a limb or even a finger is my biggest fear. Literally. No other phobia comes near it, so I totally get the other point of view.

I Have such conversations reversed. Had a stroke and my right side of the body is paralyzed. My arm and hand are less functional. People asked me, why I don't amputate them, I can't use them anyway. I'm shocked about such words. I'm so sorry that you have to deal with such conversations.
