If you’ve followed us for a while, you know I usually share a video each year to celebrate Sam’s Gotcha Day. Although it’s technically in April, I was away from social media for personal reasons. Many of you reached out with kind messages and concern, and I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart. The truth is, this past year has been incredibly hard. I’m choosing to be vulnerable and open with you now because I believe it’s important to remember that we all fight our own battles, and that what we see on social media is often just a small glimpse of a much bigger reality. The moments I share with Sam and every smile you see from me are completely genuine. This boy always brings out the best in me. But what you didn’t see is that, before filming some of those adorable videos you enjoyed last year, I had been crying. Over the past year, I went through a divorce after a 10-year relationship, lost the job I had for 9 years, and could no longer afford my father’s cancer treatment. All of it pushed me into deep anxiety and depression. Creating content and knowing we bring joy into other people’s lives has always filled me with infinite gratitude, and I truly cherish every interaction with you. But I had to step away for a while. Even though I was putting my life back together, I was emotionally drained and needed time to rebuild myself. So here’s my message to you: If by any chance you’re going through a hard time, trust yourself and take all the time you need to heal. Don’t be ashamed. Don’t let what happened to you turn you bitter. You will eventually rise stronger. We often underestimate how powerful a broken heart can be. At the time, it can feel like your world is ending, but in truth, it might be the start of a new, magical chapter. One day, you’ll look back and feel proud of yourself, because you’ll realize that even when you were torn apart, you somehow became more whole. Thank you all for your patience, love, and understanding. And to my sweet Sam boy: You’ll never understand the depth of your impact on my life, or how much you’ve comforted me, especially this past year. You’ve helped me find my way back to peace. From the very first moment I cradled you in my arms, I knew I would love you for your whole life. And now I know that one day, I’ll mourn you for the rest of mine. Yet even so, loving you this much will have been so worth it. #DogTraining #dogtricks #cutedog
