Totally inaccurate. Bessus wasn’t impaled, he was tied to two tree trunks that were drawn down. When the ropes were cut, he was torn in half. This punishment was selected by the Persians themselves. Alexander handed him over to his own countrymen to be judged for his actions and sentenced.
