that's red eye au' jus. you have to add a spoonful of flour to your scrapings, stir it around ti brown a little bit, then pour in your coffee to get gravy

Red eye gravy on grits is just fantastic. I make mine with bacon grease and coffee. Just pour the coffee into the hot grease and cook it down for a bit.
