I personally suspect that a lot of the reason behind the rebrand is the fact that their primary customer base is old people, who are notoriously cheap. The per-customer revenue is low and staff don't want to work when a table of 4 leaves a $2 top.

As a former employee (ran their social for years) I have thoughts! The “bean” has always been an alt logo. Would make sense to just simplify to that. And the theming was so loved (their warehouse is AMAZING).
