Thank you! I am Iraqi. The Kuffiyah originated thousands of years ago in Mesopotamia in the city of Kufa in Iraq, hence the name “Kuffiyah”. Eventually it became a part of Arab culture and dress and then became a symbol of resistance (like you said) when Arab resistance fighters wore it to cover their faces when they fought the British occupation.
