Tell me about it. Eldest of 8, literally my mum's carer, and I do probably 90% of the housework, etc. I'm always the first to get it in the neck, while the ones who sit about all day and do nothing don't even get a mention. But if I say anything, im causing issues and bringing stress into the house, im the one thats fucking stressed...

Yup. My useless brothers get free rent, their car insurances paid for, their phone lines paid for, college paid for - me? I have to pay rent, I have to have a career, pay for my own car & phone lines 💀 I told my parents already to NOT look at me to take care of them when they’re old. Hope their lil investment with my brothers pays off ✌️

Also, I think parents view the weaker child as a reflection of their parenting skills. So they defend that child more to make themselves feel better.

It works both ways because at the same time the parent who does the lease is often the one that’s desired. No matter how much a mother does if the father is absent the child is always looking for the father and always blaming the mother rather than the father.

I felt this so much. As the most responsible child, I rarely need or ask for anything. Suppose to be her “best friend” someone how out of all her kids she does the least for me, will jump for everyone else but somehow always leave me hanging. I really stopped caring and stopped trying 🤷🏽♀️
