im from Chicago we barley had mentors, no opportunities, no jobs, social media wasnt profitable..so i just started reading alot, and tried to learn everything I refused to be mentally lazy after hs.

I think you’re right. I’m older than you, but it was like that when I was younger too. Even the young men who grew up in two parent households, like my brother’s did, took on a more rugged façade because kids who were more exposed to violence could sniff them out. I’m hoping with the rise of more men in the education system that they will be able to inspire them in a different direction.

It’s gonna take us as Black men adopting a new culture where we reject Black men that go for felonies. That’s what causes fatherless homes and neglected children. We aren’t even legally allowed to own a pipe with felony. That is emasculating considering that 30% of Black men are felons.
