I am a white australian citizen, and I understand that i am not a native. Half of my family are immigrants from denmark and they have worked so hard to earn their citizenship. Becoming a citizen isn’t an easy process, immigrants have followed strict rules move here. Immigrants take the jobs that white bogans here are too lazy to do, 40% of registered nurses here are people who have immigrated from other countries. As a country we need immigration to deal with declining birth rates and fill jobs. Instead of blaming all your own life issues on immigrants, think about the corporations that are actively ruining out economy to line their pockets, poisoning our lands, and paying off government officials so their businesses aren’t impacted. Think about the landlords that are owning houses as ‘investment’ properties and charging fortunes on a basic human right.

Lady, I am an immigrant, I spent 6 years studying in Australia. I have a full time job and I pay my taxes in this country. FYI if you are skilled and qualified and educated no jobs will be taken away from you 🫶 Companies pay you for your labour.

Tell Australians to study more and get qualified and put in the hard work to be in a position to get qualified jobs, so that the country doesn’t have a SHORTAGE of skills, which requires the country to import those skills. Australians being lazy (obviously there’s exceptions). Is the root cause of this problem. Raise up and put in the hard work.

No, Monica. This protest unintentionally fuels implicit racism. If you are protesting with the genuine intent of improving policies for the average Australian, that’s positive. But still, there is a complex layer of implicit racism that needs to be acknowledged, whether people want to admit it or not. I was born and raised here in Australia and have built a career in mining. I also had trouble getting my foot into the housing market. Despite my roots, my appearance and being an Asian woman has made me feel less accepted especially in recent times. The frustration should be targetted at the government and their unfavourable policies for the Australian Citizen and not people of colour.
