Calling all apple girlies , this one is for you Bread Batter 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened 3/4 cup granulated sugar 2 large eggs 1/3 cup sour cream or Greek yogurt 1 tsp vanilla extract 1 1/2 cups all- purpose flour 1 1/2 tsp baking powder 1/2 tsp baking soda 1/2 tsp salt Cinnamon Sugar Swirl 1/2 cup light brown sugar, packed 1 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon For the apples 2 medium apples, peeled, cored, and diced (about 1 ½ cups) 2 tbsp granulated sugar 1/2 tsp cinnamon For the Glaze 1/2 cup powdered sugar 1-2 tbsp milk 1/4 tsp vanilla extract Instructions Prep your pan: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line a 9×5-inch loaf pan with parchment paper. Make the cinnamon sugar swirl: In a small bowl, mix together the brown sugar and cinnamon. Set aside. Toss the apples: In another bowl, stir together the diced apples with granulated sugar and cinnamon until evenly coated. Set aside. In a large mixing bowl, cream together butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy, about 2 minutes.Beat in the eggs one at a time, then add sour cream and vanilla extract. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.Add dry ingredients to the wet ingredients in two additions, alternating with the milk. Mix until just combined. Pour half the batter into the prepared pan. Sprinkle half the cinnamon sugar mixture on top, then half the apples.Spread the remaining batter over the apples, then top with the rest of the apples and the cinnamon sugar. Bake for 50–60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out mostly clean (a few moist crumbs are fine). If the top starts browning too quickly, loosely cover with foil halfway through. Let the bread cool in the pan for 15 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack. Once cooled, whisk together the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla to make the glaze. Drizzle over the cooled loaf before slicing. #caitlinstable #applefritter #applefritterbread #appledessert #falldesserts
