S4 Hodgkins survivor. When people tell me I beat cancer because I had a great attitude, I say I beat cancer because my targeted therapy and chemo worked!my dad died at 55 from NH lymphoma and had the most amazing attitude. Exercised almost daily, was 3rd oldest man to summit Mt. McKinley with a cancer riddled body but the chemo/radiation did not work. His will to live was extraordinary. Be kind to yourself in treatment!!💗

Being positive makes you…more positive! It doesnt affect the cancer, but the mood. People who survive has not done a better Job of thinking than those who pass away. They had different cancers, different situations.

Hi Dr. Zafar, what can you recommend, my mom has stage 2B cervical cancer and she’s just have her 2nd session last week, and now she’s having severe stomach cramps. Is this normal? Cisplatin and radiation is her treatment

My mom had stage 4 gallbladder cancer. 0 symptoms and by the time they caught it she had tumours everywhere.

No. It’s all about money. My sister had thyroid cancer and died. I truly believe she would have lived. There is NO MONEY IN WELL PEOPLE.

My mom had stage 1 bc 12 years ago. It came back this year stage 4. She got tested the 1st time for genetic testing, it all came back negative. How do you feel about genetic testing for bc and how do you feel about getting retested?

So you've been an oncologists for over 20 years. So I am almost positive that at some point you shook your head because you couldn't believe a person was still sitting in front of you. But yet, there's strong belief in god had a lot to do with it. So I'm sorry, doctor I disagree with you. I'm sitting here today because God chose the vessel or the doctor to treat me. But in the end, he is the final word. there is such a thing as gods miraculous healing. I've seen it and not just myself but others.

Tysm for this! As survivors we often blame ourselves, we wonder if it’s our fault but in reality it’s has little to do with the decisions we’ve made about what we put into our bodies and has more to do with what’s going on outside of them. I believe that suppressed anger and a highly stressful environment is why I was chosen by the devil! Even after removing myself from the negative environment, 9 years later, he came for me again even though I was happy as can be!

I think it’s your immune system , I always find it hard to understand because once you finish chemo radiotherapy etc you get put on drugs that compromise ie low your immune system ?? Your immune system needs to be strong so it can detect cancer and kill it ????

My mom has stage 4 idc that has spread to the bones, why does cancer wait so late in life, she’s 71 and I’m scared to lose her my dad passed from mesothelioma 2 years ago and that cancer is too aggressive

I needed to hear this today. Every one tells me how strong I am…I say that doesn’t matter, you can’t “strong” your way out of cancer. Sometimes I just want to have a bad day where I hate all of this. I’m always better the next day. I just can’t pretend that everything is ok when it doesn’t feel that way.

My late husband died of pancreatic cancer a decade ago. He had whipple surgery and chemo. He lasted 22 months. His oncologist explained ( layman’s terms)that pancreatic cancer cells have a hard shell which T cells cannot penetrate and kill.
