@alisha_g9: I’m walking the runway for a fashion show in New York so here’s a little bit about my journey modeling & how I get opportunities not signed to an agency. My #1 tip is to build a portfolio yourself. I did this by first styling photoshoots with whatever outfits I had in my closet. I would collaborate with photographers, create the vision board myself, and do my own hair and makeup. As my online presence grew, I was able to collaborate with some amazing South Asian brands like @The Saree Room & @DesiThrift and style photoshoots for them to add to my portfolio. After that, keep an eye out for open model calls & notifications on!
