I've been in the Indie book world for more than 10 years at this point. Started going to Indie book signings when they were just popping off. I read Archer's Voice when it first came out and when CoHo was still Indie. My top 10...probably can't do of all time because I've read THOUSANDS at this point (average 300+ a year) are as follows in no particular order but 💯 what comes to mind when people ask for recommendations- 1. Bright Side by Kim Holden 2. Maestro by Auden Dar (I think that's how you spell it) 3. For Alice by Jewel E Ann 4. Weightless by Kandi Steiner 5. A Place Without You by Jewel E Ann 6. Where the Road Takes Me by Jay McLean (especially if you love One Tree Hill) 7. Heartbreak Warfare by Kate Stewart and Heather Orgeron (I talked to Heather at length about this book a couple years ago. They worked so hard to get it right!) 8. Reverse by Kate Stewart (yes, IMO better written and more realistic than The Ravenhood books) 9. Under the Sycamore Tree by B. Celeste 10. The Thorns Remain by Jennifer Hartman and Chellie St Claire ❤️❤️❤️All of these should be on your TBR. I think you'll notice most of them aren't the book that is the most popular by that author. But, I do think they are the better choice. Like, Weightless is SOOOO much better than Love Letter to Whiskey. I tend to love the angsty books and all of these fit the bill. I don't have triggers...But, there is some cheating in some of these books.
