I have breastfed 3 babies, about to be 4 and it has ALWAYS been painful to me. They were successfully breastfed for 2 years each. I have a pretty high pain tolerance I’ve been told and I think I’d agree with that. It still has always hurt me, it does get better about a week to two in

My boys had tongue and lip ties, which made it very painful while nursing you can see a pediatric dentist and have them lasered

Once you get past week two BF is better! Apparently the rash is normal since NB aren’t used to our world!

It’s painful the first week, your body is trying to find the right “pressure” to release the milk, all while the skin is constantly wet and getting irritated. With my second by week 2 , I was having way less pain. Just keep putting lanolin on !
