It’s also worth noting that she’s also the only one that actually doesn’t want to do those things, canonically. She believes it’s the only solution, but the moment that it crashes, esp when Scootaloo is dead, there’s remorse. Whereas the others? They tend to stay being evil

ive spent an entire shift before just thinking about rainbow factory and awoken and the disability/eugenics motifs and how the factories *long* history kind of shows the fallacy of saying "no pony knows about it" rainbow factory existing will always fascinate me

I don't know why this lore is still lodged in my head to this day, but Rainbow was one of many pegasi that worked at the factory, and actually seemed remorseful (but still willing), and the process itself was a culmination of many generations and a consequence of war/famine. Celestia signed off in it, because Equestria NEEDED rainbows. It was a dystopian eugenicist/facist metaphor rather than the usual 'evil murder pony' trend.
