@coachjaywhg: When you do squats with your heels raised (standing on plates, wedges, or squat shoes), you shift more emphasis to the quads. That’s because the heel lift lets your knees travel further forward, keeping your torso more upright, which shortens the range for your glutes/hips and loads the quads more.
