Absolutely get a disability lawyer. It will make the process faster and easier. Apply for disability immediately it takes time. A lot of time. In the meantime get in with specialists. SSA wants to see that you’re currently seeing multiple specialists.

I'm in the process of filing now, they're on the medical determination part now. Says it could take over a year.

Plan on it taking several years. Which I’m aware is ridiculous but unfortunately reality. My sister applied 2 years ago after almost dying. Still not approved
