Met a German guy in CT last year. He had just bought an apartment in CT, for €60000. that was less than he makes in a year in Germany. How do SA citizens compete with that? Our salaries are still the same as it was 10 years ago 🙄

We need to earn in dollars, Pounds and euros to afford a house next to the sea or mountain in CPT, sad part is we are born here yet some of us will never live in/close to those properties. Very sad reality.

Systematic segregation. You don't have to make it a law, just increase the prices so much that people voluntarily buy outside of urban areas. The banks are in it, the Estate agencies are in on it and the most saddening part is that the "system " allows it. Why must we voluntarily build houses in rural areas where access to quality anything is impossible? Why must the Kasi suddenly seem desirable to people who grew up in it and swore to leave it for better? You see it is built this way so you CHOOSE it. It does not make it right or fair but they don't care as long as the system allows those same segregation laws to continue lawfully. Why do we still have "black" , "coloured" , "Indian" and "white" areas in 2025? And before you say its a choice.....go read this comment from the top.
