I mean as an opener I lose about 2 minutes just walking in and having to turn off the alarm. Then setting my stuff down so I have free hands to clock in, then grabbing an iPad to actually clock in. Those 2 minutes add up over years and years and the company can afford it

I mean it’s true I have to unlock the door, lock the door back, disengage the alarm, and then go to the back room to clock in.

rooting for you guys because this company is a disgrace and the new policies of the last few months are moreso an effort of barista toutirw and pushing sales tham actually caring about the millions of people working for a company

they don't have to get lawyers. they could say yeah that makes sense. we should pay you for all the time that you work. add a couple minutes to the openers and closers. we're arguing over pennies when the CEO makes 6666 times more than the average employee.

But you also need to get there 15 minutes early. Do not clock in. Read my daily get up-to-date on everything communicate with your team then you can clock in only at your specific shift time. And if you don’t well, then you’re in trouble and you’re under prepared for your shift.

Im confused because I work for Starbucks and were there for 30 minutes after the store closed and we clock out as the manager is setting the alarm (the doors get locked when the store closes)

so the doors are locked before you clock out; you lock the doors 30 mins before your shift ends. And its 45 seconds to get out the door after alarm sets. In addition you can write in 9:31pm in the punch log book of you feel its due. Im a SB SM, I wouldn't bat an eyelash oflver a minute logged in. so everybody who has to walk out of a building after clocking out is due pay?

What is the wording on this video to frame this lawsuit as it would victimize customers because employees do work off the clock and are asking to be paid for it? Very unprofessional and clearly biased documentation in favor of corporate greed.

When a company threatens to fire you for clocking in 1 minute early or 1 minute late, I think this is a valid concern. If they can be petty, so can their employees

If I get written up for being a minute late but yet they never care how many days I’ve stayed later than my time scheduled then YEA we can be petty too

I'm sorry but isn't it obvious that Starbucks should pay for every second someone is working?

Do you get paid for parking your car? Then the time it takes you to get inside of your job? No you don’t. You get paid when you are dojng work. If this was the case why don’t we get paid from the second we leave our homes. We are only leaving to work. It is a balance. I work for this company and am not in a manager role or higher. I have many things I would change about the way things are done but this is not one of them. If u are doing your job correctly you are setting the alarm and locking a door that in fact takes less than 45 seconds. I know this cause that’s how long you have to get out of the store once u set the alarm
