🕯️ JUSTICE FOR ALBERT OJWANG – THE BLOOD OF THE INNOCENT CRIES OUT 🕯️ Today is not just a sad day — it is a painful reminder that in our beloved Kenya, speaking the truth can cost you your life. Albert Ojwang, a young Kenyan, full of life and purpose, was arrested simply for expressing his views about a senior police officer — the Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police. The very person he spoke about is the same one who reported him. And instead of justice, Albert was thrown into police custody... and never came out alive. Let that sink in. Albert was killed while in the hands of those who swore to protect him. No explanation. No justice. No accountability. Until now, no action has been taken against the very officer who lodged the complaint. Only junior officers have been suspended — a move meant to appease public anger, but not to deliver real justice. As the Church, we are deeply disturbed. We cannot be silent. Silence is betrayal. Albert's death has opened deep wounds in the hearts of Gen Zs across the country — the same generation that has been targeted, harassed, and even killed for daring to speak out. These are our sons, daughters, brothers, and sisters. How many more must die before the truth is faced? We lift our voices not only in mourning, but in righteous anger and holy protest. The Church is not just called to preach in pulpits — we are called to defend the oppressed, to speak truth to power, and to demand justice when the systems meant to protect life end up destroying it. We demand: A full, independent investigation into Albert Ojwang’s death. Immediate suspension and questioning of the DIG who reported him. Protection for whistleblowers and citizens who express their views. A full stop to police brutality and state-sanctioned intimidation. 🕊️ We mourn. 🗣️ We speak. 🙏🏽 We pray for justice. ✊🏽 And we will not be silenced. The blood of Albert Ojwang is crying out from the ground, just like Abel’s did in Genesis 4:10
