@debisilber: This conversation stunned me—and I know it’s going to strike a chord with you, too. 💔 I recently sat down with @chelseybrookecole, psychotherapist and author of If Only I’d Known, for a transformative episode (episode 435 on From Betrayal to Breakthrough). We unpacked why so many deeply kind, loving, and emotionally generous people—maybe even you—find themselves in relationships with narcissists. And the key trait? Agreeableness. Not weakness. Not codependency. But agreeableness. Chelsey explains the five traits that make agreeable people such incredible friends, partners, and leaders… and why those same traits are like a beacon to narcissists. In this raw and deeply honest conversation, Chelsey shared: ✔️ Her personal story of two narcissistic marriages ✔️ The difference between grandiose and vulnerable narcissists ✔️ Why people who give the most often get the least in return ✔️ How to break the cycle without losing the best parts of yourself We also talk betrayal trauma, energy depletion, boundaries, and the inner healing required to move from heartbreak to wholeness. 🎧 This one is for the helpers, the healers, the ones who keep trying harder—and are finally ready to see the pattern for what it is. 👉 Listen now at https://thepbtinstitute.com/435-how-agreeableness-makes-you-a-target-for-narcissists-with-chelsea-brooke-cole/ #FromBetrayalToBreakthrough #NarcissisticAbuse #EmpathVsNarcissist #BetrayalHealing #Agreeableness #ChelseyBrookeCole #DrDebiSilber #PostBetrayalSyndrome #PeoplePleasingRecovery #EmotionalBurnout #HealingJourney #TraumaAwareness #BetrayalRecovery

Childhood trauma is a huge indicator in narcissism. They’re either a golden child and everything is perfect or they go through a severe amount of trauma what is the alternative to this?

I’ve heard people who are given the label narcissist are actually just very anxious and their behavior is similar to that of a narcissist.

I had a violent childhood and I'm always afraid to tell that to someone . especially a romantic partner because they assume that it's a red flag. In reality I'm overly empathetic to the point where it has damaged me. I feel bad for people who have hurt me and I give endless chances. ❤️I'm more of a echoist really and it's taken me two years of therapy to fix this
