For some reason, Carrie was everyone’s favorite friend. She did plenty of mean things to each of them, yet somehow always got away with it, like they were all blind to it. Sure, no one’s perfect, but come on… in real life, she wouldn’t have any friends

It’s actually an interesting point- bc Miranda is a lawyer. She’s taught to foresee problems and have logical solutions for those problems. Charlotte would have been the logical choice. But Miranda does not act on logic, we see this time & time again. She acts on her emotions, ie- picking Steve over Dr. Robert. Carrie has never showed a maternal side, and I think that’s why Miranda picked her. She relates to it bc Miranda herself is not maternal or nurturing. Is it the best for Brady? No. Does it make Miranda feel good? Yes. —and look how Brady turned out in AJLT.

it just felt so more on brand for Charlotte to be his God Mother and honestly I was shocked that Miranda asked Carrie, especially considering how Carrie treated her! Don’t forget when Miranda was in a neck brace, fell and called Carrie but instead of rushing to her friend, Carrie sent Aiden over😭

it was just a ceremonial title because Miranda doesn't believe in any of that stuff and only did it to humor Steve. so: 1. she wanted her best friend standing next to her. 2. she knew Carrie would understand it was only ceremonial and wouldn't be overly involved in her parenting of Brady like Charlotte would have as godmother

I also don’t understand why the hell Charlotte wasn’t at Brady’s birth instead of Carrie. I don’t understand why Miranda wanted Carrie there. Not to mention that Carrie just left for Big right after her best friend just gave birth. If Charlotte were there she would have been at Miranda’s side from when she arrived at the hospital until she got discharged.
