When I was in 4th grade my mom wrapped my first training bra and had me open it in front of everyone at my birthday party. It was so humiliating!

My daughter wanted her first bra when she was 5 so I got her a little sports bra. Here and there she'd ask for more and I'd get them. Now at 9 she doesn't have to worry about the sensory shock that is a sports bra!

Okay. But also… this age varies. 😁 I just did this with my 2nd grader. I know that’s an outlier but it’s great to make note of that.

thats actually the best way to introduce that because then the kid will get curious for themselves and try it!! it won't feel forced :)

Oh man, I had to beg my mom for one. She kept saying I wasn’t old enough. If was totally age appropriate. This is so much nicer.

My mum gave me a sports bra for Christmas when I was going into the 4th grade and I don’t feel ready to wear so I didn’t wear till almost 5th grade but it was nice for it to be there when I was ready

My kid was in a local theatre production and had a quick costume change- that’s how it come up for us. Bike shorts and sports bra. Now they just live in her drawers for any random day.

Hey, I did this in July before she started 4th grade! I guess I'm on track. Only problem - she hated how they felt. So sooner or later we gotta go shopping. 🤷🏼♀

My 7 year old daughter had a tank with a built in shelf bra. She asked for more like that so I showed her sports bras, saying she could wear them with any shirt. She’s so happy - says it’s more comfortable

My daughter has been wearing sports bras since the first grade. She enjoys looking like mommy and it's taught her to be aware of the way her breasts look in some shirts/dresses and she will come ask me for one if she thinks she needs one in a. specific outfit...🤷🏾🖤

My daughter has had to wear one since first grade, she’s isn’t over weight just built & tall for her age. She could pass for a 12 year old now 😢

I think it's important to educate parents especially single fathers it is not healthy to wear bras when you're sleeping ,developing breasts do not need to be restrained you could also stunt the growth with the glands with all the pressure ,it's better just to have an extra tank top to black the nipples from showing if that's what we're going for ?
