@dr.chad.md: 👀 Alternating esotropia is a type of strabismus where the eyes take turns crossing inward, instead of one eye being consistently affected. Because the brain alternates which eye it uses for fixation, these patients usually don’t develop amblyopia (“lazy eye”). 🔎 Causes: It can be related to genetics, abnormalities in eye muscle control, uncorrected refractive errors (like farsightedness), or issues with the nerves controlling the eye muscles. 💡 Treatment: Options may include glasses (especially if farsightedness is present), vision therapy, or surgery to realign the eye muscles when needed. Early evaluation by an eye specialist is important to preserve binocular vision and depth perception. #EyeHealth #StrabismusAwareness #PediatricOphthalmology #VisionCare #Esotropia
Had this two. I favored my left eye and would have double vision when I was tired. Surgery fixed that.

Cheryl S. :
I have strabismus and my vision is split. I see fine out of both eyes. ( and no, I don’t see double). Luckily I’ve had 2 surgeries to straighten the muscles so I don’t look like the video!
