I don’t think a lot of you lived in Philly and went out to eat in Philly in the 1990s/2000s and it shows. Have some respect. You’re lucky and reaping from what Starr helped to create in Philly.

I would love to see Starr replace some of his vacant restaurants like Continental and Jones in Old City, especially since that area will be so popular during the 250 celebration. Let him also take over the old City Tavern while he’s there! No reason that should still be sitting empty.

Also notice how all the influencers are just posting the vibe and no food. No lie as a parc girlie, I literally only like 5 things on the Menu. I just go to parc for the vibes and chats with girl friends and coworkers

We need all different kinds of restaurants. Parc is boring but it is a fabulously consistent experience. And its location just transports you to a different vibe. The food is also almost always very good.

For me the pros of Starr restaurants are that the atmosphere is nice, the service is great, and they do take peoples’ allergies and dietary restrictions very seriously. The cons? Calling their food mediocre is generous imo. I’ve never had a meal I could finish at any location.

As a chef and as a ground floor restaurant operator who has opened numerous restaurants to call the food at the star. Restaurants mediocre is a little rough. A B+ to me is like the cheesecake factory I would have to say Parc it’s more than a B+. Yeah it’s escargot, onion soup, and even a cheeseburger but it’s done so well. I think you have to realize when you’re doing something on a grand scale like that executing amazing food in a 300 seat restaurant is the hardest thing to do and no one commenting Here is capable of it including the person who made this video I hate critics. I hate yelp. Let’s just applaud for the people who works their butts off to make these places happen. You call it a tourist trap, but tourism brings economy to the city. I’ve heard Stephen is tough to work for I would assume there is a reason for that. He is a pioneer of the restaurant scene in Philly and yeah, maybe it’s cookie cutter, and there are novelties like the hundred dollar cheesesteak at Barclay prime and now the hundred layer lasagna but man what an amazing job on that building and training the staff and getting everything to go well is so hard to do

Find out what he’s doing with Old City Continental!!!! Left it abandoned and empty in our historic area it looks awful. He needs to do something!!
