Not a doc, but omg can soooooo relate. How you describe that some of the anxiety is handled w/med making it easier to breakdown the more intense anxiety. 🙋🏼♀️

I proudly announce my anxiety meds to people. We need to remove the stigma. We talk about allergy meds and high blood pressure meds and heck ED meds but mental health treatment is still so taboo. Thank you for your openness! 🥰

FYI, bloodwork doesn’t necessarily deem you to have perimenopause. It’s more about symptoms. Now, if they were to evaluate your estrogen or progesterone levels, that should be done depending on your cycle as they dip and rise, depending on the time of month..

Another symptom of peri-menopause? Anxiety 🙄 Add that to my list of reasons I am worried about being dismissed by my Dr. But at least I've made the appt to discuss my anxiety!

I’m on 10mg of escalitopram, it’s helped me wonders. After my last baby I had horrible PPD this has helped me tremendously!! 🥰

My doctor just entertains all of it 😂 she is a saint. You think you have some specific cancer, she'll send you for five scans haha. You think you have sleep apnea. She'll send you for a study. She isn't the expert and is fine to rule things out or in. I wish more were like that.

Adding to your ‘long version’ I’m on the same med for the additional side effects that have helped 1000% with hot flashes and sleeplessness! Listen to the Dr it’s not always an insults when they want to put you on meds!

Yeah!! My doctor is horrible about saying it's my anxiety. PISSES ME OFF!!! I don't like my Gp as a doc but nice person. It's hard
