i bought a heatpump system - problem is under 32F (ice) 1 power outage means no heat unlike gas. Also no money to be saved when the energy companies (no matter the state) double or triple the rates/delivery fees during those times. You can be w/o heat for 1-12 hours if the power goes out

Heat pumps are great, but most are wayyyy overpriced for what they are. They’re like 98% just a regular AC with a valve and some extra tubing.

I've looked at upgrading my small propane furnace to a heat pump because my house is pretty small and even small furnaces are a bit overkill, but man are they expensive... maybe in a decade or two when I've save up enough😅

unfortunately, I don't think most people realize that even if it can do both you still need a heat exchange in your house which is a separate system
