If the steam deck can run Elden Ring at 40-50fps, there is no reason the Switch 2 can’t run it at 60 frames with an entire team optimizing it specifically for the console and with technology such as DLSS. I’ll set my standards there, any less and I’ll be disappointed tbh.

also people just forgot how poorly elden ring ran on PC at launch if you used Windows, I'll dunk on Nintendo every day of the week for their anti consumer practices, but this, for the first time in a while, isn't their fault

I had zero issues with the playability of CyberPunk on my Switch 2. It played perfectly fine docked and undocked. I did run into a massive graphics issue midway through but it seemed like a one off bug and I just rebooted and kept going.

I mentioned this on a another video about the topic, but its interesting now that the Switch 2 isn't as massively underpowered as the Switch, games running poorly now falls onto the devs more. Not that it's the perfect hardware, but even on Switch 1, there were games that were compromised that did not have to be just because the devs didn't want to optimize a Switch version but still wanted the presence on the console. And like you said, Cyberpunk can run fine so other games not running well isn't entirely on Nintendo. Also Elden Ring doesn't even have a Switch 2 release date yet, its very likely that this is an older version that's not done yet

THANK YOU someone with a Brain, people are saying the console is weaker and at times saying it's the same as the switch 1 and that could not be further from the truth, as someone who owns a switch 2 I have been enjoying the massive performance uplifts in games, and with some third party titles not running well, those are mostly devs issues since the switch 2 is a little stronger PS4 in the hands

I know you're probably tired of this topic, but can you talk about the hypocrisy of some of the bigger content creators? Like how, for an example how jacobweeby was all too happy to complain about the price of the Switch 2 or the price increase of the Switch 1 but then turns around and praises Xbox for their 900$ handheld and doesn't even acknowledge that Sony increased the price of the PS5 by the same amount Nintendo has? I think it's the same kind of BS that Pierre here is doing.

A lot of these guys used to just quote Digital Foundry verbatim when talking about the Switch, but you can tell these guys are really lost on how to push the narrative when people like Digital Foundry has praised the performance of the Switch 2. Their reviews on the previews of FFVIIR and Elden Ring at the Nintendo booth were GLOWING!
