@unrwa.usa: Born a Palestine refugee in Lebanon, Ihmayed Ali’s life could have been only defined by struggle. Instead, with an UNRWA education, the encouragement of his UNRWA teachers, and the support of his family, he turned challenges into milestones. At just 16, Ihmayed started at an UNRWA vocational school. He later earned a spot in the Electrical Engineering program at Damascus University, a remarkable achievement that opened new doors. His career came full circle when he returned to UNRWA as a Senior Instructor, then a Vocational Education Specialist, and ultimately as Principal of the UNRWA Siblin Training Centre, where he inspired and empowered countless Palestine refugee youth. He also became a Biomedical Engineer and built programs that uplift fellow Palestine refugees. Today, he’s a proud father and doting grandfather living in Canada, and serves as a vital member of the UNRWA USA Refugee Advisory Council (UURAC). Ihmayed’s story shows the power of an UNRWA education, giving refugees the tools to thrive, and to help others do the same. With your advocacy and support, we can keep UNRWA going until there is a just solution to the plight of Palestine refugees—and a world where they can all thrive. 📖 Read more #VoicesofUNRWA stories and share yours: unrwausa.org/share-your-story
