@dwnews: People affected by a proposed hydroelectric dam project that would submerge around 16 villages in an Indian valley have been fiercely resisting the plan. Despite their protests, the Indian government is trying to move forward with the project to reduce the impact a Chinese dam upstream on the same river might pose to the region's water supply.
India is too big and it needs to be divided into small, medium size new countries

Okay, China has the sovereign right to build its own dam to produce electricity, but why does India need to destroy nature to build another dam ?

what people don't understand is that after they're being left from here what are they going to do what are their livelihood what are they going to get!? even though I'm from Bangladesh I understand their pain because my people go through that everyday, India builds a dam and when is rainy season the poor all the water to Bangladesh and many people many villages go under the water.

German state media trying REALLY hard with the China bad narrative again. The Indian dam was planned BEFORE the Chinese dam was. So that’s one bs point. Not only that but the Indian dam threatens to cut off water to both Pakistan and Nepal. Quit your BS DW.

How hypocritical. India want to deny China right to build a dam but they themselves are building dams on same river

On the international stage, Western countries are most adept at preaching “values,” “justice,” and “rules.” Yet when confronted with real power struggles, these lofty slogans collapse instantly. In the face of opponents capable of striking back, their once forceful posture shrinks to nothing more than diplomatic statements and media posturing.
This is the true face of the West: sharp in words, timid in action. Only when dealing with the weak do they appear fearless, brandishing the so-called “sword of justice.” But once confronted by real strength, their self-proclaimed rules and values shatter like illusions.
Such double standards reveal the West’s hypocritical essence — their so-called “principles” are never truly upheld, but merely tools and excuses, applied only when the balance of power allows.
