I wish I could give someone my phone !!- I joke with 8th graders that they can have my phone but they have to answer all of the emails, Google chats, texts, pay all the bills , and all e all the problems of the people who call me. They VERY quickly realize they really, really don’t want my phone lol😂😂😂😂

I agree on most. I think that sometimes the lack of problem solving/wanting the answers is a byproduct of the years spent getting an exact study guide for every test. I can’t remember the last time my now Freshman had a comprehensive test in a subject, let alone a chapter test that didn’t match the study guide right down to the order of the questions sometimes. And we live in one of the best public school districts in the area. Funding is so reliant on scores that they ARE “given” the answers much of the time and just have to memorize (and sometimes it’s still an open notes test).

Students not being able to just close their lips and do their own work! They will look you dead in the face and tell you they weren’t talking and believe it. How dare I accuse them when I catch them mid sentence. Oh and every assignment is a group effort so they think. And sharing answers is not cheating…
