Among the keynote speakers, Senator Musadik Malik, Federal Minister for Climate Change, delivered an insightful and forward-looking address on the growing connection between human security, climate change, and national resilience in today’s rapidly evolving world. Speaking to an audience comprising policymakers, military leadership, diplomats, academics, media representatives, strategic experts, and youth participants, Senator Musadik Malik emphasized that climate change is no longer only an environmental issue—it has become a defining challenge for global peace, human security, and national stability. He highlighted how environmental degradation, water scarcity, climate-induced displacement, food insecurity, and ecological instability are increasingly shaping geopolitical realities and affecting vulnerable communities across the world. The Minister stressed that national resilience today depends not only on military preparedness, but also on a country’s ability to protect its people, resources, economy, and environment from emerging climate-related risks. Underscoring the importance of human-centered policymaking, he called for embedding climate resilience into national strategic planning, strengthening institutional preparedness, and promoting sustainable development frameworks capable of addressing future challenges. Senator Musadik Malik also emphasized the importance of international cooperation and collective global responsibility in confronting shared environmental vulnerabilities and safeguarding future generations. His address provided valuable insights into the intersection of climate security, governance, sustainability, and strategic stability, reinforcing the need for adaptive leadership and long-term vision in an increasingly uncertain global landscape.
