The heron spreads its wings over the surface of the water in an umbrella shape. This creates a shaded portion of the water, mimicking the shade of vegetation. The shade entices local fish who are looking to cool down, and to hide away. However, with its neon yellow talons acting as an extra layer of enticement for the fish, it uses its sharp beak to catch unsuspecting victims.
