I’m a white revert who wears hijab, alhamdulilah I live in east London so I don’t get stares, but I come from a small town and can imagine the stares I will get when I visit home soon lol

I’m 5 years on in my hijab journey and Alhamdulliah I’m so proud to be wearing it everyday. For me I have experienced stares but unfortunately a lot of stares come from some other Muslim women the most. I usually smile if we make eye contact but am not met with a smile back. Obviously there are other that I will get a smile from, or a Salam but others, it’s not a nice feeling I get back from them 😞 that being said again, Alhamdulillah proud of my crown given by Allah SWA 💜

I no longer wear a scarf on my head but I still strive for the other aspects of hijab such as minimal makeup (ideally none), no tight clothing etc. I couldn’t convince myself to keep it on in order to please allah as the modern ‘fashionable’ version of hijab is not correct hijab that is pleasing to allah. After seeing a baby the same age as mine attacked in an airport, I finally made the decision that felt safe, so I stopped wearing a scarf on my head. But of course a head scarf is not the beginning and end of hijab as the Muslim community often falls into thinking. May allah make it easy for anyone practicing or striving towards proper hijab, it is so difficult, particularly in the west 😩
