JAPAN TRAVEL TIPS YOU NEED ⬇️ Planning a trip to Japan is intimidating but I promise it’s doable and so worth it! I just came back from 10 days in Japan and after doing hours of research, here are a few of my tips to make your trip easier! 1️⃣ Forward your luggage! We got away with just our carry-ons but with any additional luggage, it would be tough to carry up and down stairs in the metro stations and on public transport. Yamato Transport has reception desks in the airport, at major stations and you can fill out a form at most hotels as well to forward right to your next hotel! Another option is Takkyubin - just bring luggage to Family Mart. Tip: you CAN bring large luggage on Shinkansen but need to reserve luggage space way in advance as this sells out. If your luggage fits in overhead space, it is free. 2️⃣ Download Google Translate - take a photo of anything in Japanese and translate into English. We had to buy bus tickets at Family Mart (long story 😅) and the machine is all in Japanese so this was a lifesaver! The Payke app is also great for scanning any item (I used this on tons of skincare products) and giving all the details/ingredients in English. 3️⃣ Don’t forget to bring your passport when shopping to get your tax free discount! This is applied on your bill, nothing needs to be done at the airport. You must be a tourist or have a short-term Visa, show passport at check-out, and spend more than 5,000 yen. If the item is food/drink/cosmetics you cannot consume before leaving Japan! What Japan questions do you have? #japantravel #japantrip #japanitinerary #tokyo #japantraveltips
