You should big items like rugs and comforters to the laundromat. Those machines are built for more bulky items like that. Plus it saves your washing machine and dryer

you need to fold the rug the way you unpacked when it was brand new. i always wash my rug in washing machine n i always air dry. it comes out extremely clean even tho it's folded

Girl next time just take it to a car wash! Use the pressure washer and then bring it home and hang it to dry.

The tag on the rug tells you what size washer it fits in. You seem to have a larger rug, so it needs a bigger washer, like the ones at the laundry mat. Read the rug tag! We have the same one!

Fold the rug in quarters. Then it washes just fine. We did take our 10x13 to the laundromat but the smaller ones washed up just fine.

When it says machine washable. I think it means the carpet cleaner, machine washable anyways.
