So your argument is that no woman can ever consent to putting her child up for adoption?

So what are your solutions for the babies that are already in the system? What you want is never going to happen, so instead of telling people what they shouldn’t do then what SHOULD BE DONE WITH THESE CHILDREN? No one has been able to answer that for me

So im from private adoption situation, its open and i know my birth mom and know it was her choice and she picked my family I was placed with, so what if they actually want to put the baby up for adoption? What if it isn’t about lack of resources ect.? I feel as if every situation is so so different but I can’t imagine my birth mom was the ONLY one who didn’t want to keep her baby or abort? I’ve had numerous people tell me I was trafficked, I should have beeen put in the system, that I was ripped from my birth mom at birth(I wasn’t my parents stayed for three weeks and spent sooo much time with her) the system isn’t good but damn I’m so grateful when I think about how many routes my life could have gone ?

I think the bottom line is that is people want to “give their children up” they should be able to do so and people should be able to ethically adopt…BUT there should be resources in place for people who want to be parents. They should not have to put their kid up for adoption due to lack of resources…we should be helping them to get the resources to raise that child, if they choose

It's about the lack of education to these adopting parents that go into it with zero idea that along w a child, they're adopting the lifelong trauma that will inevitably affect the child. Being torn away at birth or infancy has consequences. I was treated like I was full of behavioral issues when I'm reality, I was a child full of grief and feeling disconnected from everything. Children shouldn't be given to people under 25 for no more than biological reason- the brain is not yet developed which WILL effect parents ability to even fully comprehend the trauma that an adoptee will need to heal from.

Genuinely, what happens if people don’t adopt? What happens to the kids left behind? I’m curious what your knowledge on this is because I am also against adoption but I am unsure about some things. Hope this makes sense

"You're not working, you have two kids already?" That was the situation my bio mom was in - except she wasn't offered all of those things, just guilted and shamed into hiding but keeping the pregnancy. I didn't have a horrible childhood but looking back I can see I had a traumatic one as a result of being displaced from my community, family, culture and purchased by two people who didn't know or care enough to help me contend with that. Adoption, especially private for-profit adoption is traumatic!

Adoption can be up to 70k, it's definitely for profit, and agencies make a TON of money doing it. Adoption as it is right now, exists to give rich people babies.

there's a shelter in VA..Mary's shelter that actually will support women and help them keep their babies .offers childcare..job training...parenting classes... I wish these places were regulated so they were preying on women

GURL. As an attorney i say, bring on any incentive to keep those babies alive and well. We ALREADY LIVE in a country where women are forced to have more kids than they want, more kids than they can afford, our foster care system is trash and don’t even get me started on CPS and family court… the systems we have in place to protect children are TRASH. Women have limited options so GIVE WOMEN OPTIONS! I want less babies born with Fetal Alcohol Syndrome. I want less babies abandoned in dumpsters hours after being born, less babies found in Walmart toilets, I don’t want to know that there’s a specific name for a baby r**e kit, i want less cases of shaken baby syndrome, i don’t want to see cases of kids found dead of malnutrition.
